The city of Mannheim and the Fistball World Championships in July 2023 not only have a lot to offer in terms of sports: In addition to various options for overnight accommodation and an unproblematic journey by public transport, fans will also be offered plenty of highlights on the festival grounds at the Rhine-Neckar Stadium!

Fistball City Mannheim: What fans can look forward to in July 2023!

From July 22 to 29, 2023, the 16 best fistball nations in the entire world will be guests in the square city in Baden-Württemberg. With the kick-off in the Rhein-Neckar Stadium, the squad will move to the SAP Arena for the finals, where a natural turf will be laid especially for the World Fistball Championships.

12,500 spectators will be able to watch the last two days of the World Cup in the SAP Arena every day – that alone promises a unique witch’s cauldron. Advance ticket sales have already started – there are already only a few remaining tickets for the best seats.

Getting there

This is how fans can visit the Fistball World Championships in Mannheim.

 

Fistball fans from Germany, Europe and all over the world will be visiting Mannheim in July 2023 to watch the games in the Rhein-Neckar Stadium and the SAP Arena. There are several ways to visit the two venues from the preliminary round to the finals. This is how it is possible to travel to the 2023 Fistball World Championship in Mannheim:

Public transport

Comfortably to the World Cup by bus & train: It has never been so easy to visit the World Cup venues by public transport. The personalized World Cup tickets guarantee free travel to and from the venues on World Cup days.

Rhein-Neckar Stadium: The “Carl-Benz-Stadion” stop is within walking distance and is served by streetcar 6 and bus 62.

SAP Arena: The stops “SAP Arena” (STR 6, Bus 50, “SAP Arena Süd” (STR 6A) and “Mannheim ARENA/MAIMARKT” (S1, S2, S3, S4, S51, RB, RE) are in the immediate vicinity of the arena. Special trains will be used for transportation on the final days.

Car & Bus

Travel by car and bus is also possible. A limited number of paid parking spaces are available in the vicinity of both venues.

Rhein-Neckar Stadium: On the A656 (direction Mannheim-Zentrum/Neckarau) at the Mannheim-Mitte junction, continue straight on in the direction of the city center. Pass the SWR and at the intersection behind the planetarium turn right onto Schubertstrasse, which leads straight onto Theodor-Heuss-Anlage. The Rhein-Neckar-Stadion is then on the left.

SAP Arena: Take the A656 in the direction of Mannheim-Mitte / Mannheim-Neckarau. At the Mannheim-Neckarau junction, leave the A656 in the direction of Neckarau, continue on the B38 a/B37, and after about 500 m turn right into Ludwigshafener Straße. Turn left there and then after approx. 200 m turn right into the street “An der Arena”.

Bike & On foot

The Rhine-Neckar Stadium and the SAP Arena can also be reached by bicycle and on foot. For the bicycles there are places to park near the entrances.

Rhein-Neckar Stadium: The World Cup stadium for the first days is located directly at Mannheim’s Luisenpark (Theodor-Heuss-Anlage 19, 68165 Mannheim). Behind the planetarium, it is important to keep to the right along Schubertstrasse, which leads straight onto Theodor-Heuss-Anlage. The Rhein-Neckar-Stadion is then on the left.

SAP Arena: The arena is located in Bösfeld in the east of the city of Mannheim near the Neuhermsheim district. Separated only by the 656 freeway, the Maimarkt grounds lie to the northeast. The address of the SAP Arena is: An der Arena 1, 68163 Mannheim, Germany.

Starting with breakfast, through lunch, coffee & cake to dinner and a small snack in between – in culinary terms, everyone will get their money’s worth at this World Cup. In addition, there will be a varied show program – including the traditional World Cup parties, which must not be missed in Mannheim.

Lots of fun with ball, pedalo and more? This is what the “Kids Area” offers on the grounds of the Rhine-Neckar Stadium.

From Saturday to Thursday, thanks to the cooperation with the Institute for Sports and Sports Science Heidelberg, a varied program is put together, where young and old get their money’s worth. Daily changing highlights are guaranteed!
And childcare is also planned at selected times during the World Cup days at the Rhein-Neckar Stadium.
