Team Brazil
Second place in the perpetual medal table: Brazil has won two World Cup titles so far.
It was the really big coup: From 1968 to 1995, Germany celebrated the world championship title in nine consecutive world championships. But in 1999 in Olten (Switzerland), Brazil caused the great title favorites to fall, and in front of their home crowd in 2003, they immediately won their second title and also made it into the medal ranks at the 2007 (silver) and 2011 (bronze) events.
After missing out on the podium at the 2015 World Championships and 2017 World Games, the South Americans recently returned to the top three in the world with two bronze medals (2019 World Championships, 2022 World Games). In 2023, the team, which is mainly recruited from players of SG Novo Hamburgo, Sogipa Porto Alegre and Duque de Caxias, wants to tackle the final.
